Here are some of the most frequently asked questions which may be of assistance in planning your stay. If you have further questions, please let us know

What time is check in and check out?

Our standard check-in is 2pm and check out 10:30am.

Can I arrange an earlier check-in?

A request for early check-in can be made with our Surf reception team. For arrivals we do our best to have the your room ready at the requested  time. But if you wish to guarantee an early check-in you should book the night prior.

Can I arrange a later check-out?

If you’d like a later check-out please contact reception the day prior to departure. If required, We can  store your luggage while you continue to explore Yamba.

Is there a minimum check-in age at The Surf?

The minimum check-in age for the main guest on the reservation is 21 years. 

When is the reception open?

Our reception is open from 8AM – 6PM daily 

How do I check-in after reception hours?

We have a key safe just to the left of reception where we will leave your keys and instructions to access your room. The code to access the key safe will be text  and emailed to you.

Tell me about the rooftop areas

The roof terraces are for the exclusive use of Surf Guests and their visitors. It is not open to the general public. Enjoy the rooftop heated pool with sun loungers or the relax in the lounge area of our Pippi Deck, and enjoy the most stunning views in Yamba 

Can I walk to town?

We are located within a 15 minute stroll to town. Also, we have a few Lekker E-bikes available from reception for your convenience.

Which airport should I fly into?

The closest airports to Yamba  are Ballina and Grafton Regional. Both approx 45 minute drive to Yamba. Shuttles, taxis or car rental is  available

Is there free parking onsite?

Yes, undercover parking is available and exclusive for Surf guests . Beach car park directly opposite is free and unlimited.

Does The Surf have a swimming pool?

Yes! We have a heated, rooftop pool and sundeck.   
The pool is for our guests only and is open from 8am – 7pm daily.

Can I arrange a photoshoot at The Surf?

Our property is perfect for photoshoots. All shoots must be approved by management and are restricted to the time and space agreed. Please email a detailed request to our team. Media@thesurfyamba.com.au

Can I smoke in the room?

All rooms and public areas are strictly non-smoking. 
The Surfs smoke detectors are sensitive and linked directly to the fire brigade. If by chance you activate a smoke detector in your room. You will be held liable for the cost of the fire brigade. Currently $1,800.

Do you take children?

We welcome children at The Surf, children under 12 stay free in existing bedding. Rollaway beds available for older children, charged. See our T&C’s for full details.

How can I make a booking for a larger group?

Group bookings are best discussed and confirmed over the phone or via email at stay@thesurfyamba.com.au

Are the rooms serviced daily?
All of our rooms are serviced daily – who doesn’t love to have their bed made when on holiday?

Is there a restaurant onsite or is breakfast included?

We do not have a restaurant on site, however, there are some great breakfast spots close by. Or you can preorder one of our breakfast hampers, delivered to your door.   

Is there free wifi and is it high speed?

Yes, we have NBN with seamless connectivity.  Open network Guest Surf then enter password Guest@Surf.

What is your party policy?

We have a very strict NO PARTY policy. The Surf is in a residential area, we have lovely neighbours and noise travels easily especially at night.

Do you allow pets?

We love pets and they are welcome to stay at The Surf Yamba, but we have a few simple rules to ensure you, your pet and other guests enjoy their stay. Alternatively, your pets can holiday at the highly recommended Yamba Boarding Kennels & Cattery

Is full payment required at the time of booking?

No, to secure your booking a one night refundable deposit is required. Refer to our booking terms and conditions for further details.

When is Peak Season

Primarily over the Christmas, Easter and school holidays periods. 

Is there a credit card surcharge?

We do not charge a credit card surcharge.

Do I need to pay a deposit when I make a booking?

To secure your booking a one night refundable deposit is required. With final payment due  7 days prior to arrival. Or 14 days during peak season. 

Group bookings of 4 rooms or more require a one night refundable deposit per room  to secure the booking, and final payment made 30 days prior to arrival.  

Can I request an extra bed in the room?

Yes, a limited number of single roll away beds are available. 

How do I cancel my booking?

For direct bookings please email or call to cancel your reservation. For online travel agent bookings please contact the agent.

How do I provide feedback to The Surf hotel?
